The context
“Our company was founded about 20 years ago,” begins owner Roberto Boscolo Bacchetto, “for the production of nursery plants, both horticultural and fruit-bearing. Since then, things have evolved quite a lot, and today we produce around 600 million seedlings annually, with an export share of about 25%. The main reference crop is processing tomatoes, followed by chicory.”
“Technology and innovation are important in a company, but I still put people first. Without people, you don’t get anywhere. Having a stable and passionate team of collaborators has been essential for us to grow. Then, of course, innovation and investments must go hand in hand, but I’ll stress it again: the real capital is human capital. We consider ourselves lucky,” Bacchetto continues, “also because our average age is low, and we all know that young people are an important driving force for a company’s growth.”
Innovation is also the context of the collaboration with C-Led. “We thank Vivai Bacchetto for the trust placed in us,” says Raffaello Montanari of C-Led, “in the field of their technological development. We supplied lamps for a grafting chamber and for the benches where development takes place. By managing light in the best possible way, the quality of the plants improves and, at the same time, energy is saved because lighting is used only when needed.”
