The Context

An increasingly advanced, sustainable agriculture based on scientific data analysis: with this goal, the new Living Lab was inaugurated at the Science and Technology Campus of the University of Parma, a research greenhouse with high automation that represents an excellence at the national level.

As a company committed to developing cutting-edge technological solutions, we are proud to have actively participated in this project by providing high-performance LED lamps for plant growth, installed inside the structure.

The role of LED lighting in Precision Agriculture

Inside the Living Lab, our lighting technologies work in synergy with an automatic 3D and multispectral digital phenotyping system and latest-generation IoT sensors.

The interaction between LED light modulation and automatic plant monitoring allows researchers to:

  • Analyze with very high precision the physiological response of crops in controlled environments.
  • Evaluate the efficiency in the use of water and nutritional resources and resistance to abiotic stresses.
  • Develop new sustainable, efficient, and scalable cultivation strategies.

Our synergy with the academic world

Participation in the creation of the Living Lab demonstrates our natural inclination to collaborate with Academia and research centers. We strongly believe that constant dialogue between university scientific expertise and technological business innovation is the key to driving the transition toward a resilient, low-environmental-impact Agriculture 4.0.

The project, born within the Agritech program (National Research Center for Agricultural Technologies), involves interdisciplinary experts in agronomic, food, engineering, and IoT sciences from the University of Parma.
