A new circular supply chain from brackish water for producing vegetables and fish
The Context
In a context where water resource protection and energy savings represent global priorities, the agricultural sector requires concrete and radical solutions.
We are proud to announce our collaboration with the academic world for the design and supply of the LED lighting system dedicated to a cutting-edge research project: a new circular supply chain based on brackish water aquaponics.
Project Summary:
- Water Savings: Use of brackish water instead of fresh water, preserving an increasingly precious resource.
- Circular Economy: Integration between fish farming and the cultivation of salt-tolerant plants (halophytes and vegetables), where nutrients from the aquaculture circuit directly nourish the crops.
- Luminous Efficiency: Design of a tailored LED spectrum to optimize photosynthesis, stimulate plant physiological responses, and reduce the system's energy consumption.
The Importance of University-Business Synergy
The university gathers real market drives and needs to transform them into applied research; as a technology company, we translate scientific requirements into high-performance lighting solutions.
Thinking in an innovative and circular way is no longer just a business choice, but the only viable path to ensure the sustainability of the agricultural world and the health of the planet.
