The context
Bronte Vivai is a company with a long-standing tradition. Founded in the late 1970s as an agricultural cooperative, over time it has witnessed enormous changes in the sector in which it operated. From the birth of horticultural nurseries, it has followed their growth and gradual specialization.
Thanks to this background and its location in a highly specialized area, the company was able to develop and acquire the necessary expertise to respond to the evolving needs of producers—whether in terms of agronomic techniques and varietal choices, or on the commercial side. In all these areas, demands have advanced considerably, and it is essential to remain ready and flexible to meet the challenges of a constantly changing market.
“The most striking change,” reads a company note, “has been the progressive shift of production from conventional to organic cultivation. This has not only improved the sustainability of the production process but also required us to engage with new agronomic techniques and make more efficient use of resources.”
“Thanks also to this momentum, and to the contribution of our technicians and operators, we have been able to embrace new crops such as sweet potato, for which we can guarantee a complete range of all varieties. We have also introduced new grafting techniques and technical innovations to facilitate cultivation, such as basal heating, brushing to control plant size, the use of antagonistic fungi and other resistance inducers, as well as artificial lighting.”
And it is precisely regarding the proper use of light that the collaboration with C-Led comes into play. “We are grateful to Bronte Vivai for choosing to work with us,” says Raffaello Montanari of C-Led, “as part of their technological development. By managing light in the best possible way, the quality of the plants improves and, at the same time, energy is saved, because lighting is used only when needed.”
