C-LED chose Yamaha as its technology partner

Two Yamaha Motor IM assembly lines, allowing high-speed precision assembly and optical inspection, were installed in the brand new C-LED Imola plant.

“We consider it important to be able to provide state-of-the-art expertise combined with speed and flexibility,” explains Enzo Cuoghi, C-LED General Manager. “Our surface-mount assembly capability is the fulcrum of our business, and to ensure we made the right investments we decided to examine a number of leading brands. We concluded that Yamaha offered not only the best equipment, allowing not only fast performance while handling large quantities and maintaining extremely high quality, but also a real and true partner for a solid and long-lasting partnership”.

C-LED, in addition to its extensive experience of more than 30 years and its continuing commitment to research and development, together with the Cefla Business Units, is also known for its high product quality standards. At the Imola plant there is scrupulous attention to cleanliness, also through the use of anti-static technology to purge from assembled components any trace of dust particles that might interfere with the precise alignment of the LED emitters or the quality of welded joints.

“In this respect, we believe that our line is pretty much unique in our industry,” says Enzo Cuoghi. Here too a Yamaha technology is used, as it allows defect detection in an extremely safe way and with very few false alarms, in addition to being very effective in detecting any coplanarity errors that might indicate assembly or welding problems.
